Desert Bloom

Inspired by autumn sunsets over dusty desert plains...literally all the pinks under the sun...soft and fiery at the same time. I imagine what these colours would look like when you look at them from space...dreaming of summer sunsets...desert landscapes...a connection with earth...

A new colour story for this series of abstract beachscapes and landscapes.

I've given myself the freedom to play and experiment in the studio and this has been an intensely satisfying excercise and a fresh new direction for my art. The interesting thing is that I am using the same tools, paint and colours with the results being so different yet still very familiar to my original style. These artworks are created with thick layers of paint and a palette knife.
